Meet The Team

Roxy's grandfather was a farmer so she grew up on a farm. She picked up horse riding in June 2024 after losing her grandmother. Since then, Roxy has had a crash course in equine care by reading various books and learning from knowledgable and competent horsemen and horsewomen. She has great access to incredible professionals for advice when necessary.  

Roxy loves horses and believes in creating a respectful bond with horses. She believes that a great bond with a horse means respecting a horse's boundaries whilst also not allowing them to dominate. She does not believe in harsh and disciplinarian approach of training. Roxy has formed this bond with her own horse, Persil, who lives at Ironwood Stables.

Roxy is also a consultant at Forest & Co solicitors and, following her own life experiences, she also runs a charity to help women come back from trauma. 

With over 20 years in the equine industry, Jenny brings extensive hands-on experience and formal qualifications in equine management, riding, and horse husbandry. After completing her Level 3 in Equine Management and Riding with BHS certifications, Jenny has worked on private livery yards while owning, breeding, and competing both her own horses and those of friends.

In 2023, Jenny worked at a leading thoroughbred stud in Victoria, Australia, gaining valuable experience across two foaling seasons, yearling preparations, and major sales including Inglis Melbourne Premier. Now back in England, Jenny is continuing her career locally at Ironwood Stables, bringing a strong background in horse care.

With more than 3 years of experience in working at livery yards and having owned their own horses since childhood, Holly and Maddie support Roxy and Jenny on a daily basis. They are both very confident and caring and we love having them on the yard.
